Foresta 2024

Foresta 2024

Blending grapes from different altitudes - the obscure pink-skinned Trebbiano Rosa varietal planted over clay at the bottom of the valley alongside Malvasia di Candia from the volcanic soils at around 600m. This year Antonio has taken on a new parcel of Trebbiano which joins the mix. Co-fermented on the skins over 2 weeks in open topped tanks before being pressed off to steel for a short rest, then bottled in the spring with no additions.

Expressing this alternate terroir, there is a little more weight and density that marks a clear distinction from the strictly elevated wines, following through to a more prominent tannic framework. A beautiful golden amber in the glass, aromatics mix pithy citrus with more savoury notes of woody spices and herbs. There are flavours of sage-flecked bitter orange marmalade and sweet clementine with an enlivening wire of acidity. The most 'orange' of Antonio's macerated whites.
